Embalming

Embalming is one of the most important services a funeral director can provide. Embalming is done to give a good lasting impression of a loved one following death. It is also done for 3 main reasons:

Sanitisation

The fluid we use is a type of disinfectant, designed to kill harmful bacteria the body may be harbouring. This makes the body safe to touch and for you to hold a loved ones hand and have them at your family home.

Preservation

The body tissue is preserved during this operation, reducing the likelihood of decomposition during the time of viewing and the funeral service. This helps reduce odours and unwanted deterioration.

Presentation

This is the time when we do our utmost to make a person look their very best. We spend a considerable amount of time restoring features to how a person would have looked.
